Latest Technology News – Nissan’s Safety Technologies Unveiled

The latest news in technology is the unveiling of Nissan's new safety technologies in Japan. These technologies are based on Nissan's 'Safety Shield' concept.
The Acceleration Suppression for Pedal Misapplication technology detects obstacles using sonar and automatically applies the brake to help avoid collisions when the vehicle is in danger of touching nearby obstacles. Nissan aims to commercialize this new technology within the next two years.
The Multi-Sensing System includes a blind spot warning, lane departure warning and a moving object detection that detects moving objects like pedestrians through the rearview camera. This technology will be installed in new Nissan models in 2012 in Japan.
The Predictive Forward Collision Warning System warns the driver with a buzzer, a display signal and by tightening the seatbelt, when it sees the need to decelerate.
